0.3575 troy oz .900 1912 Very Fine

The 1912 half dollar struck at the Denver Mint represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, this piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Having achieved a grade of Very Fine, the coin retains much of its original detail, allowing observers to appreciate the artistry of its creator, Charles Barber, whose work defined American silver currency at the turn of the twentieth century. On the obverse side, the profile of Lady Liberty faces right, her head adorned with a traditional Phrygian cap and a secured laurel wreath. The word LIBERTY is visible on her headband, accompanied by the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above her, with the year 1912 anchored at the bottom. The reverse side features a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings fully spread. A protective shield rests on the bird's chest, while its talons grasp a cluster of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing the balance of strength and peace. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. The Denver origin is marked by the letter D, which sits just below the tail feathers, framed by the legends indicating the nation of origin and the half dollar denomination.
