0.3575 troy oz .900 1912 Very Good

Struck at the Denver Mint in 1912, this ninety percent silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of pure silver and displays the wear expected of a piece graded in Very Good condition, showing its long journey through American commerce. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin features a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath atop her head, layered over a Phrygian cap, with the word LIBERTY clearly visible on her headband. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST arches above her portrait, while the year 1912 is anchored at the bottom. The reverse side presents a detailed heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. A protective shield is positioned across the eagle's chest, while its talons grasp both a peaceful olive branch and a cluster of arrows. In its beak, the eagle supports a flowing banner inscribed with the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The Denver mint mark, a small D, is located below the eagle, marking its origin at the Colorado facility.
