1912-D Barber Half Dollar XF

0.3575 troy oz .900 1912 Extra Fine

Struck at the Denver Mint in 1912, this ninety percent silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of silver, displaying the robust design work of Charles Barber. Surviving in Extra Fine condition, it offers a remarkably clear look at the artistry that circulated during the early twentieth century. The obverse presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head and a traditional Phrygian cap. The word LIBERTY is clearly visible on her crown, surrounded by the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the 1912 year of issue. On the reverse, a powerful eagle spreads its wings, protecting a shield positioned at its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM, while its talons grasp both a cluster of arrows and an olive branch. The Denver mint mark, indicated by a D, is positioned below this heraldic scene, just above the denomination of HALF DOLLAR.
