Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1912 ten-cent piece is a wonderful example of early twentieth-century United States coinage. Composed of 90% silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal, the coin represents the enduring work of designer Charles Barber. This particular specimen survives in Fine condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that once circulated actively in daily commerce during a bygone era. The obverse of the dime presents a classic depiction of Lady Liberty. She is shown facing right, adorned with a traditional laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. Surrounding her portrait are the words of the nation of origin, while the year 1912 is anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a detailed wreath encircles the face value, which is clearly stated as ONE DIME.
