0.3575 troy oz .900 1913 Almost Good

Struck in 90 percent silver at the Denver Mint, this 1913 half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Even in Almost Good condition, the coin retains the essential elements of its historic imagery. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, giving it a substantial physical presence that complements its historical character. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse displays the profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above her head and the year 1913 below. This iconic imagery was a staple of American pocket change during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide, protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness. The Denver mint mark, a distinct D, is located at the bottom of the design, just above the denomination of HALF DOLLAR.
