The 1913 silver half dollar, struck at the San Francisco Mint, represents a classic era of American coinage. Crafted with a silver purity of 90 percent, this fifty-cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Even in an Almost Good state of preservation, where the details have softened through decades of circulation, the strength of the original design remains unmistakable. Created by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, secured with a laurel wreath. Above her head, the national motto reads "IN GOD WE TRUST," while the year 1913 is anchored at the bottom. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings fully spread. A protective shield is positioned at its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a flowing banner, while its talons grasp both an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing readiness. The surrounding inscription identifies the nation as the "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination.
