Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap, a classic symbol of freedom. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed above her portrait, with the year 1913 grounded at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle commands attention. The eagle is shown with its wings fully spread, protecting a shield positioned across its chest.
