1914 Barber Quarter AU
The 1914 Barber quarter dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in 90% fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint, this specimen contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in a remarkably well-preserved Almost Uncirculated condition, offering a clear window into early twentieth-century American design. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty faces right, adorned with a traditional Phrygian cap and a woven laurel wreath. The word LIBERTY is clearly visible on her headband, framed by the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST above and the year 1914 below. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings fully spread. A protective shield covers the bird's chest, while its beak holds a scroll inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing strength. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR frame this classic design.
