1914-D Barber Dime Good/VG
The 1914 Barber dime, struck at the Denver Mint, offers a tangible connection to early twentieth-century American coinage. Minted in 90% silver with a precious metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece belongs to a classic era of United States currency. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin features the profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath. On examples graded in Good to Very Good condition, the word "Liberty" on her headband is no longer visible, though the coin retains a full outer rim. The surrounding inscription reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the 1914 year of issue. The reverse of the coin centers on the denomination "ONE DIME" surrounded by a detailed wreath. On pieces of this grade, the reverse rim may appear slightly weak, reflecting the natural wear of a coin that actively circulated in commerce more than a century ago. The Denver "D" mint mark is located on the reverse, indicating its origin at the Colorado facility.
