The 1914-S Barber Quarter represents a fascinating moment in United States coinage, originating from the San Francisco Mint during an era of classic silver currency. This particular coin is struck in 90 percent silver, containing 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in Fine condition, showing honest wear that tells the story of its journey through daily commerce over a century ago. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the quarter displays a dignified portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, a classic symbol of freedom and victory. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" arches above her head, while the year "1914" is anchored at the bottom. The word "LIBERTY" is subtly visible on the band of her cap.
