Struck at the Denver Mint in 1915, this half dollar represents the final years of a classic era in United States coinage. Crafted from 90% silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in Very Fine condition, showing the clear details of its century-old artistry. The obverse presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head alongside a Phrygian cap. Her headband is inscribed with the word LIBERTY, surrounded by stars and the 1915 date. This design was created by Charles Barber, whose work defined the look of America's silver coins at the turn of the twentieth century. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings wide, protecting a shield on its chest. The eagle holds an olive branch of peace in one talon and a bundle of arrows in the other, symbolizing strength. In its beak, it clasps a banner displaying the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The Denver mint mark, a small letter D, is positioned below the eagle near the bottom rim, marking its origin at the Colorado facility.
