0.3575 troy oz .900 1915 Very Good

In 1915, the Denver Mint struck this silver half dollar, which carries a face value of 50 cents. Minted with a silver purity of 90 percent, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This piece has survived more than a century, displaying the wear typical of its certified Very Good grading. The coin features the artistic work of Charles Barber. On the obverse side, a profile of Lady Liberty faces right, her head adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. The word Liberty is visible upon her headband, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed above her. The year 1915 is positioned at the bottom of the design. The reverse side presents a heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. A protective shield covers the chest of the bird, which holds a banner in its beak. Clutched in its talons are an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR frame this classic emblem.
