1915-S Barber Half Dollar Good
The 1915 half dollar from the San Francisco Mint represents the final years of a classic era in United States coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this fifty-cent piece carries a total of 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Even in its worn, Good condition, the coin retains the unmistakable outlines of its original, turn-of-the-century design, which was created by Charles Barber. On the obverse, the profile of Lady Liberty faces right, her head adorned with a traditional Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST sits above her, while the year 1915 is stamped below. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner displaying the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness.
