This Standing Liberty Quarter, struck at the San Francisco Mint, represents the Type II design variant introduced during that pivotal year. On the obverse, Liberty is depicted stepping forward through an open gate, holding an olive branch in one hand and a shield in the other. This side features the inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST, spelled with a classic V in place of the U, alongside the artist's initial M and the S mintmark indicating its San Francisco origin. The reverse displays an eagle soaring through the air, flanked by stars. The inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR.
