In 2016, the United States Mint celebrated a landmark centenary by recreating one of its most celebrated historical designs in pure gold. This special release serves as the second entry in a series honoring the early twentieth-century renaissance of American coinage. Crafted from a quarter ounce of 0.9999 fine gold, the coin brings a classic twentieth-century masterpiece into the modern era with exceptional purity. The obverse features Hermon MacNeil's iconic depiction of Lady Liberty standing guard, flanked by the traditional inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. To denote its modern gold composition, this contemporary issue also bears the inscriptions AU24K, 1/4 oz., and the year 2016. On the reverse, an eagle glides in flight, framed by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. Struck at the West Point Mint in New York, this coin features a reeded edge and has been certified in perfect SP-70 condition.
