The 1918 Standing Liberty Quarter stands as a compelling example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this twenty-five cent piece contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. The Philadelphia Mint produced over fourteen million of these quarters, which circulate today as highly prized historical artifacts from the era of the First World War. On the obverse side, the coin displays a powerful depiction of Liberty stepping forward through a stone gateway. She is outfitted in protective chainmail, grasping an olive branch in one hand while holding a defensive shield in the other. This side of the coin bears the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" along with the 1918 date. The design was created by sculptor Hermon MacNeil, who balanced themes of peace and preparedness. The reverse of the coin features an elegant eagle captured mid-flight, soaring across the sky.
