The 1921 Standing Liberty quarter represents a fascinating era in United States coinage, showcasing a design that departs from traditional representations of Liberty. Struck in 90% silver, this coin contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It has been certified in Very Fine 30 condition, preserving the distinct details of its historic imagery through decades of survival. On the obverse, sculptor Hermon MacNeil presents a powerful, militaristic depiction of Liberty. Rather than a soft or purely peaceful figure, she is shown wearing chainmail armor as she steps through an opening in a wall. In her hands, she balances the dual themes of peace and defense, clutching an olive branch in one hand while holding a shield aloft in the other. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is visible flanking her figure. The reverse of the coin features an elegant eagle captured mid-flight, soaring across the sky. Surrounding the majestic bird are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", along with the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR" at the bottom.
