The 1924 Standing Liberty quarter, minted in San Francisco, represents a fascinating era in United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver with a total silver content of 0.17875 troy ounces, this coin is highly regarded for its detailed artistry. The San Francisco mint produced only 2,860,000 of these quarters in 1924, making them a relatively scarce find for enthusiasts exploring the series. On the obverse side, the figure of Liberty is depicted walking forward through a gateway. She wears chainmail and holds an olive branch in one hand while carrying a shield in the other. This side of the coin also features the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the "S" mint mark indicating its origin. The reverse side showcases a majestic eagle soaring with its wings fully spread, surrounded by the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR".
