The 1924 Standing Liberty Quarter stands as a remarkable example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in Philadelphia from 90% silver, this twenty-five cent piece showcases a highly detailed design that captures the spirit of its era. With a metal content of 0.1788 troy ounces of pure silver, the coin represents a time when precious metals circulated daily in the pockets of the public. On the obverse, Liberty is depicted in a powerful stance, clad in chainmail as she steps through a gateway. In one hand, she holds an olive branch, while her other hand grips a protective shield. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is rendered with a classic stylistic spelling, using a "V" in place of the "U" in "TRUST". Below her feet, the year 1924 is clearly displayed. The reverse of the coin features a majestic eagle captured mid-flight with its wings fully spread. Surrounding the soaring bird are the traditional inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", along with the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR". This particular specimen is preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of the original detail from the Philadelphia Mint's production run of 10,920,000 coins.
