The 1926 Standing Liberty quarter stands as a compelling example of early twentieth-century United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this twenty-five cent piece contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a fascinating era of American currency design, showcasing intricate artistry on both sides of the coin. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is depicted in a surprisingly militaristic pose. She wears chainmail and steps forward through a stone gateway, holding an olive branch in one hand and a protective shield in the other. The design is framed by the word LIBERTY and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, with the 1926 date clearly visible at the base of the gate. The reverse side of the coin features a powerful image of an eagle soaring through the air with its wings fully spread. Surrounding the flying bird are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR. This particular coin has been preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original detail and design sharpness.
