The 1928 Standing Liberty quarter is a fascinating example of early twentieth-century United States coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this twenty-five cent piece contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. Even in Good to Very Good condition, the coin retains the essential elements of its celebrated design, offering a tangible connection to the era before 1933. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is depicted stepping through an opening in a wall or gate. She holds an olive branch in one hand, symbolizing peace, while her other arm bears a protective shield. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is split across the gateway, with the date 1928 clearly visible at the base of the design.
