1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter BU

0.1788 troy oz .900 1930 Brilliant Unc

The 1930-S Standing Liberty quarter represents the final year of its celebrated design series, making it a particularly compelling piece for study. Struck at the San Francisco Mint with a composition of 90 percent silver, this coin contains 0.17875 ounces of precious metal. It remains a brilliant uncirculated survivor from a total mintage of 1,556,000 pieces. On the obverse, the design by Hermon MacNeil presents Liberty stepping forward through a gateway. She is depicted wearing a coat of chainmail, holding a protective shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The year 1930 is inscribed at her feet alongside the San Francisco 'S' mint mark, while the motto 'IN COD WE TRVST' is split across the gateway walls. The reverse displays a powerful eagle in mid-flight, soaring across the field. It is framed by the national inscriptions 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' and 'E PLVRIBVS VNVM', with the 'QUARTER DOLLAR' denomination clearly anchored at the bottom.
