The 1930 Standing Liberty quarter represents the final year of one of America's most visually arresting coin designs. Minted in San Francisco, this twenty-five cent piece is struck from 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of the precious metal. Even in a moderately circulated Very Fine condition, the artistry of the coin remains highly detailed and engaging to examine. On the obverse, the figure of Liberty is captured mid-stride as she steps through an opening in a stone wall. In her hands, she bears both a shield and an olive branch, presenting a powerful dual message of defense and peace. The inscriptions surrounding her include the word LIBERTY and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, rendered with a classic Roman style V in place of a U. The year 1930 is clearly visible at the base of the gate. The reverse of the coin features a majestic eagle depicted in mid-flight, wings spread wide. This dynamic avian image is accompanied by the national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, along with the country of issue, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.
